KDT Security & Smart Automation

The core software of both systems is written at KDT: the firmware of the KB-M2 alarm panel, the firmware of the Iridium touch panels and the KDT console software. Support, updates and new features are therefore directly in the hands of KDT's technical team.

The two systems work together in everyday use:

• Arming and disarming alarm partitions and sending an emergency (SOS) command from the smart-home touch panel
• Alarm status shown on the panels from the alarm panel's own report, not from the command that was sent
• Home modes such as home, away and night, and scenarios that control lighting, curtains and equipment together
• Connection to Home Assistant over local MQTT, for projects that also use that platform

The alarm logic, sirens and outputs, as well as home control, run on the local network and do not depend on the internet; the internet is needed only for access from outside the building and for notifications.
