Iridium is KDT's smart-building family: a central console, wall and desktop touch panels, and relay modules that bring lighting, curtains, fan coils, heating and cooling, music, the door intercom and the building's alarm together in one system.
At the center of the system is the KDT console, software written entirely at KDT that runs on the KD-SC10-PW 10-inch wall console and can also be installed on Windows and Linux computers. The console is the system's local MQTT broker, and the building's devices, from panels and relays to IP speakers, the alarm panel, cameras and door intercoms, connect to it over MQTT, SIP and RTSP.
Main features of the console:
- Control of switches and relays, curtains, and thermostats for fan coils, ducted splits and evaporative coolers
- Home modes such as home, away and night, and scenarios that run several commands together
- Music playback and paging to groups of IP speakers
- Answering SIP door intercoms, with the door camera image and door opening on the console
- Control and status display of the Rhenium alarm panel
- Access from outside the building with the KDT cloud web app, and multi-user sign-in with separate permissions for each user
The Iridium touch panels run KDT firmware: lighting switches and relay groups, the thermostat, music control, home modes and alarm commands are all on the touchscreen. The wall panel has three built-in 10 A relays that keep working by touch even when the network is down.
Relay modules with 4 to 32 channels, digital inputs, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and RS485 connectivity and MQTT and Modbus support connect the building's electrical circuits to the system, and they also work with open-source platforms such as Home Assistant.
Home control, intercom, paging and music run on the local network and keep working without the internet; the internet is needed only for remote access and notifications. The console software is updated from KDT's servers as a delta update, so only the files that changed are downloaded.
